Indianapolis, Indiana – New COVID-19 data were made available on Wednesday by the Indiana Department of Health.
Data was gathered up until Tuesday. Only on Wednesdays is the state’s dashboard updated.
The COVID-19 death toll in Indiana increased from 24,261 on December 21 to 24,333 on Tuesday. The number has increased by 72.
On Tuesday, there were 1,136 potential fatalities, up from 1,129 on December 21. That is a 7.5% rise.
From 1,996,253 on December 21 to 2,002,760 on Tuesday, there have been a total of COVID-19-positive cases. That is a gain of 6507.
On Tuesday, the state saw an average of 572 visits to the emergency room and 87 hospital admissions over the previous seven days.
According to IDOH, as of Tuesday, 3,851,298 Hoosiers had finished the primary vaccine series. 55.4% of the entire population is represented by that.
Through Tuesday, the most recent booster shot has been administered to 770,702 Hoosiers in total.
The Regenstrief Institute estimates that 1,764,970 Indiana residents have recovered from the virus.
According to the Johns Hopkins University Center for Systems Science and Engineering, there have been more than 658,846,000 confirmed cases worldwide, resulting in more than 6,684,000 fatalities.
