Boone County, Indiana – Boone County is officially the second Indiana county to reach the national goal of 70% of eligible vaccinated people against Covid-19.
The first county that managed to reach this goal was Hamilton County and they passed this mark last month.
Indiana is still far behind Biden’s goal of 70% vaccinated people over 18 with at least one dose of the vaccine. Despite that fact, some counties like Hamilton and Boone County are doing much better than the state’s average.
Hendricks and Hancock counties are on the third and fourth place. This is the list as of August 3:
- Hamilton: 70.5%
- Boone: 70%
- Hendricks: 68.5%
- Hancock: 64.4%
- Johnson: 55.5%
- Shelby: 53.2%
- Marion: 52.2%
- Morgan: 49.9%
- Madison: 47.7%
According to ISDH latest report, around 58% of the Indiana population has received at least one dose of the vaccine, while 50.8% of the Hoosiers are fully vaccinated.
Vermont, Connecticut and Massachusetts are the top 3 states with highest vaccination rates so far, according to New York Times.
The country’s milestone of having at least 70% of American adults with one COVID-19 shot comes as the delta variant surges around the globe.
