Greenfield, Indiana – Greenfield man was found dead and his truck partially stuck in retention pond on Wednesday afternoon.
According to police, officers were dispatched in the 1500 block of Springhurst Blvd. at around 5:30 p.m. to make a welfare check of a vehicle that was found in the retention pond. When they arrived at the scene, they found the 61-year-old driver of the truck face down in the water.
The firefighters pulled him out of the water and he was immediately pronounced dead by the paramedics.
Greenfield Police Detectives and the Hancock County Coroner’s Office are investigating the incident to find out what happened, how to truck got there and how long the man was at the water.
Since not much details were available at the scene, police ask the residents who live in the are to share their surveillance videos with the police to help them with the investigation. Residents are asked to check their videos from Wednesday afternoon and head to police if they see blue Food pickup truck.
The body was taken in hospital for autopsy. Authorities didn’t say anything about the reason of the death, but they will inform the public as soon the autopsy is finished.
The identity of the driver still remains unknown.
