EVANSVILLE, Ind. — A 35-year-old man was arrested Wednesday night after crashing his vehicle into a yard in the 1500 block of Jackson Avenue. According to the Evansville Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call reporting the incident, with the caller stating they were unable to wake the driver.
When police arrived at the scene, they found Tyrez Brown in the car with his eyes closed. Officers were able to wake him, at which point Brown allegedly told them, “I haven’t done sh**.” Authorities noted that he appeared intoxicated, with a strong smell of alcohol on his breath and visible signs of impairment.
Brown, who refused to submit to any sobriety tests, was transported to a nearby hospital for evaluation before being taken to jail. He has been charged with driving while intoxicated with a prior conviction. Police also confirmed that Brown’s driver’s license had been suspended.
This arrest marks another incident in a series of DWI-related arrests in the area, and authorities continue to urge residents to drive responsibly and never operate a vehicle under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
