Martin County, Indiana – According to representatives of the Indiana State Board of Animal Health, Martin County authorities have slaughtered a flock of turkeys due to avian flu.
“On December 12, a commercial turkey flock in Martin County was determined to be at high risk of HPAI exposure,” the board said in a statement Wednesday.
According to the state, 27,000 birds were slaughtered to stop the disease’s spread. The Daviess County herd that tested positive on Sunday is connected to the farm in Martin County.
