Indianapolis, Indiana – IndyGo added 24 new hybrid buses in its fleet, the company announced on Tuesday.
This is another confirmation that the company goes green and this trend should continue in the future.
The idea for the green, hybrid buses was initially announced last year when IndyGo announced the contract with the California bus maker “Gillig” and two Indiana companies, Allison Transmission and Cummins.
According to IndyGo, the hybrid bus will not only cut the emission and lower the pollution, but it will also reduce the fuel costs.
The contract is worth $25 million. The bond was approved last year by the Indianapolis City-County Council.
The company added they will continue to invest in ‘green transportation’ in the future.
