Indianapolis, Indiana – The delta variant continues to easily spread across the state bringing high numbers once again on Friday.
According to Friday’s daily Covid-19 report, Indiana added 2,721 new confirmed positive cases and 12 additional deaths.
Since the start of the pandemic, there have been 796,733 positive cases and 13,698 confirmed deaths in Indiana. An additional 430 probable COVID-19 deaths have also been reported.
The number of hospitalizations as of today is 1,433 which is 130 more compared to Thursday. Friday’s number of hospitalized patients is the highest reported since February 4.
A total of 6,016,927 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in Indiana. The number includes 3,015,552 first doses and 3,001,375 individuals who are completely vaccinated.
Among all tests, the cumulative positivity rate is 8.4%, while the seven-day positivity rate is 9.7%.
While the numbers are continuously surging, health officials once again urge everyone to get vaccinated as soon as possible claiming vaccination is the best way to battle the virus and stop the spread.
