Kokomo, Indiana – In a collision in Kokomo on Sunday night involving a suspected intoxicated motorist, a 24-year-old woman was murdered.
Around 8:50 p.m., a two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Washington and Elm streets, according to the Kokomo Police Department.
According to investigators, Fremont resident Travis Sexton, 22, was driving a Chevy Uplander eastbound on Elm Street when he failed to stop at the crossing and collided with a Chevy Suburban being driven south on Washington by a Kokomo resident, 28.
A Suburban passenger was thrown and perished on the spot. She was recognized by the coroner’s office as Kokomo resident Kaysie Nickole Talley, 24.
Additionally gravely hurt, the driver of the Suburban was transported to a hospital in Indianapolis for medical attention. Two additional passengers received minor injuries but declined medical attention.
Sexton was intoxicated at the time of the collision, according to Kokomo police. It was said that his BAC was.142. Sexton may also be a drug user, according to rumors.
On preliminary counts of driving a motor vehicle while causing death and operating a motor vehicle while inflicting serious bodily injury, he was lodged in the Howard County Jail.
