Newburgh, Ind. — The Warrick Humane Society (WHS) is set to break ground on its new shelter on Wednesday, May 14th, at 1:00 PM. The highly anticipated ceremony marks the beginning of a major step forward in the organization’s efforts to improve animal welfare in the region.
According to WHS officials, two-thirds of the necessary funds have already been raised for the construction project, and detailed plans for the new site have been finalized. The new shelter will be built in three distinct phases, allowing for a gradual development of the facility over time.
One of the standout features of the project is the addition of a Quarantine Annex, designed to provide specialized care for vulnerable animals that may require isolation or additional medical attention. This new annex will ensure that the shelter can accommodate a broader range of animals, especially those with health concerns or behavioral challenges.
“We’re thrilled to see this project moving forward, and we’re incredibly grateful for the community’s support,” said a spokesperson for the Warrick Humane Society. “This new shelter will significantly improve the care we can provide for animals in need, and the Quarantine Annex will be an essential part of our efforts to protect and rehabilitate vulnerable animals.”
The groundbreaking ceremony will be a public event, with local community members and supporters invited to attend. WHS hopes the event will raise awareness about the ongoing project and inspire further contributions to help complete the shelter’s funding.
