Evansville, IN – Motorists in Perry County should prepare for traffic delays beginning on or around Monday, January 6, as crews begin a paving project on State Road 66. The eastbound lane of the road between Washington and Spring streets in Troy will be closed for the duration of the work.
The project, which is expected to last until April, will include several upgrades aimed at improving the area. Crews will be installing new pipes, upgrading guttering, and constructing curbs and ADA-compliant sidewalks along the stretch of road.
To manage the flow of traffic, a temporary traffic light will be in place during the closure. Drivers are urged to plan accordingly and allow for extra travel time while the work is underway.
Local officials anticipate that the project will result in significant improvements to the infrastructure in Troy, but warn that traffic delays are likely as work continues over the next few months.
