GIBSON COUNTY, Ind. – Residents of Gibson County may experience traffic delays Thursday morning as sheriff deputies escort a large transformer through the area. The escort is set to begin at 9 a.m. from the Norfolk Southern Railyard.
According to sheriff’s deputies, the transformer will travel south on Main Street before turning onto County Road 250 South, where it will continue east. Due to the size and slow speed of the equipment, significant delays are expected along the route.
Motorists are advised to plan for slower traffic and may want to consider alternate routes to avoid disruptions. Deputies caution that the delays could last for an extended period as the transformer makes its way through the area.
For those who typically drive through these routes, allowing extra time for travel will be essential.
