EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Three individuals were arrested early this morning after an alleged robbery and confinement at the Clarion Inn and Suites on East Indiana Street. The incident unfolded shortly after 2 a.m. when the victim reported being held against her will by three suspects, later identified as 19-year-old Nasir Gaines, 19-year-old Alondre Price, and 18-year-old Naydin Barnes.
According to Evansville Police, officers responded to a call from the victim, who claimed that the suspects had physically restrained her in a hotel room and forcibly taken her money. The victim stated that she attempted to follow the suspects as they left the room, but was pushed back and pinned against the wall to prevent her from leaving.
While speaking with a hotel employee, officers received a description of the suspects’ vehicle from the victim. This information led to a subsequent traffic stop, where all three individuals were found inside the vehicle. During the arrest, police recovered approximately $763 from Gaines, though they did not locate the victim’s wallet.
In interviews with law enforcement, two of the suspects reportedly claimed that they had visited the hotel merely to “chill,” while the third suspect chose to remain silent. Despite their statements, all three suspects were taken into custody and booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail.
Each suspect now faces charges of robbery and confinement. The case is ongoing as investigators continue to gather details surrounding the incident.
Authorities are encouraging anyone with additional information to come forward to assist with the investigation.
