Anderson, Indiana – The Covid-19 spread doesn’t seem to slow its pace across the country and this has been the case in Indiana too.
According to the latest information, six Anderson Community School Corporation classes will spend the upcoming period into quarantine as a result of several positive cases.
A total of 11 students tested positive on Covid-19 as of Friday, but the district officials say they were close to at least one staff member and 47 other students.
Following the outbreak, six classes were sent into quarantine in effort to stop the spread in the school, director of district and community engagement Brad Meadows said. These are the classes:
- Third grade class at Tenth Street Elementary School began quarantine on July 29
- Fifth grade class at Anderson Intermediate School began quarantine on Aug. 1
- Second and fourth grade classes at Valley Grove Elementary School both began quarantine on Aug. 1
- Third grade class at Eastside Elementary School began quarantine on Aug. 2
- Fourth grade class at Valley Grove Elementary School began quarantine on Aug. 2
The guardians and the parents of these children were given instructions who to handle the recent situation. According to Meadows, they were able to access virtual meeting to get the information.
As of now, the district hasn’t put additional measures against the virus as they only follow the federal guidelines. The students are required to wear mask only on school buses and transportation.
Meadows added they are in constant touch with the Madison County Health Department and will inform the public if additional measures against the virus will be put into effect in the upcoming period.
Anderson Community Schools Corporation returned to school on July 28.
