Evansville, IN — A teenager was arrested and a second teen detained after a shots fired call in Evansville on Tuesday evening. The incident unfolded just before 7 p.m. in the 1500 block of North Harlan Avenue near East Indiana Street, prompting a response from local police.
According to the Evansville Police Department (EPD), officers arrived at the scene to find several individuals fleeing the area. After speaking with witnesses and those present, a 17-year-old was taken into custody for resisting arrest. A second teenager, whose identity has not been released, was also taken in for questioning. However, police confirmed that this second teen has not been charged at this time.
An 18-year-old male was briefly detained and questioned but was later released, as no immediate charges were filed against him.
Police say a single shell casing was recovered from the scene, though no victims were reported and there appeared to be no property damage. Despite the lack of visible harm, authorities continued their investigation into the matter.
Hours later, officers returned to the residence with a search warrant. During the subsequent search, police say they discovered multiple firearms inside the home. EPD did not specify the type or number of weapons found, but the department confirmed that the investigation is ongoing.
