EVANSVILLE, Ind. — A 16-year-old has been arrested and is facing serious charges after a shooting incident over the weekend left one victim critically injured. The teen, identified as Isam Clark, is being charged as an adult with Attempted Murder and Robbery, and authorities have stated that additional charges are expected.
The shooting occurred late Saturday night at the Parkview Housing Project on Lodge Avenue. According to the Evansville Police Department (EPD), officers were called to the scene around 11:30 p.m. after receiving multiple reports of a shooting and a possible robbery.
The first caller told police that they had been shot during an exchange with two suspects and were on their way to the hospital. The caller also indicated that they had returned fire at the suspects before fleeing the scene on foot. Moments later, a second call came in reporting that a man who had been shot was knocking on doors down the street, seeking help.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers located the second victim and provided medical assistance. However, when the victim was taken to the hospital, it was discovered that he was one of the original shooting suspects.
Further investigation revealed that the items used in the shooting had been discarded in a yard near the crime scene. Authorities quickly took Clark into custody, while the second suspect, who remains unidentified, is still recovering in the hospital from injuries sustained during the incident.
As of now, Clark remains in custody at the Vanderburgh County Jail with a bond set at $1,000,000. EPD officials confirmed that he will be charged with Murder if the victim succumbs to their injuries.
This case is still under investigation, and police are working to gather additional details as they continue to piece together what led to the violent confrontation.
