Evansville, Ind. – The Vanderburgh County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a shots fired incident that took place just south of Wimberg Road on Saturday evening. Deputies were dispatched to the 1700 block of Asbury Drive around 8:30 p.m. following reports from neighbors who claimed to have heard between 10 and 20 shots fired in rapid succession.
According to law enforcement on the scene, no injuries have been reported, and as of yet, no shell casings have been found in the area. Despite the lack of physical evidence, witnesses have provided a description of a silver truck seen leaving the scene shortly after the gunshots rang out.
As part of their investigation, deputies deployed a drone to assist with gathering additional information. Authorities are continuing to work to learn more about the incident and any potential suspects involved.
At this time, the sheriff’s office has not made any arrests, and further details about the investigation remain scarce. Residents in the area are urged to come forward with any additional information that may aid in resolving the case.
