Evansville, Ind. — A confrontation between two individuals ended in gunfire Monday evening at the intersection of Baker Avenue and Negley Avenue in Evansville.
According to the Evansville Police Department, the incident occurred during a physical struggle over a firearm. At some point during the altercation, the gun discharged, striking one of the individuals involved.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene and transported the injured person to a local hospital. Authorities confirmed that the injuries sustained were non-life-threatening.
Police have not yet released the names of those involved and have not confirmed whether any arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.
