KNOX/DAVIESS COUNTY, Ind. — The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) has announced a road closure on State Road 58 in Knox and Daviess Counties. The closure, set to begin on or around Monday, April 28th, will affect traffic between State Road 57 and State Road 67, near the town of Elnora.
The closure is necessary to facilitate a chip and seal operation, aimed at improving and preserving the roadway. According to INDOT, the project is expected to take approximately one week to complete.
During the closure, a detour will be in place for drivers traveling through the area. Motorists are advised to follow the alternate route: State Road 57 to State Road 358 to State Road 67. Local traffic will still be able to access the road up to the point of closure.
INDOT urges all drivers to plan their travel accordingly and remain mindful of the temporary detour to ensure a smooth commute while the necessary roadwork is underway.
