Indianapolis, Indiana – The Indianapolis Motor Speedway’s second day of testing has been called off due to spring showers.
Rain in the Indianapolis area on Friday caused Day Two of the Indy 500 Open Test to be postponed, ending the test.
Day One on Thursday saw 33 drivers complete 3,522 laps in total, with sessions lasting longer than usual because of the possibility of rain on Friday.
Teams will return to IMS on May 12 for practice and qualifying before the GMR Grand Prix on May 13.
Vehicles will return to the legendary IMS racetrack the following week, when practice for the 2023 Indianapolis 500 is scheduled to begin on May 16.
The 107th running of the Indianapolis 500 will take place on Sunday, May 28.
The next IndyCar race will be held at Barber Motorsports Park and is called the Children’s of Alabama Indy Grand Prix.
