Evansville, IN — Emergency crews were called to the scene of a serious pedestrian accident Tuesday night in Chandler. According to Warrick County Dispatch, the 911 call came in around 8:20 p.m. reporting that a woman had been struck by a vehicle and knocked unconscious.
The caller described the victim as having been clipped by a car, and emergency responders quickly arrived on the scene. Fire agencies, Chandler Police, and AMR crews were all involved in the response effort.
Sheriff Mike Wilder confirmed that the woman sustained a severe head injury in the collision and was immediately transported to a nearby hospital for treatment. The extent of her injuries has not been disclosed.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the accident. The identity of the pedestrian and the driver involved have not yet been released.
