NEWBURGH, Ind. – Emergency crews responded to an overturned vehicle early Sunday morning, leading to a significant road closure in Warrick County. According to Warrick Dispatch, the call came in just before 7:10 a.m. for an incident on the 1100 block of State Road 662, near the intersection of Phelps Drive and in front of Knob Hill.
The accident caused both directions of the road to be shut down as crews worked to clear the scene and secure the area. Photographs shared by the Newburgh Volunteer Fire Department on social media show a utility pole that had been knocked over during the incident.
Medics and fire crews arrived promptly at the scene. However, there has been no official word regarding injuries at this time. Authorities have urged drivers to avoid the area until the cleanup and repairs are completed.
The cause of the accident is under investigation, and officials are working to restore normal traffic flow as soon as possible.
