Evansville, IN – A police chase that ended in a crash late Tuesday night on Indianapolis’ near north side led to the arrest of one individual, while another suspect remains on the run.
According to the Indiana State Police (ISP), officers initiated the pursuit just before 11 p.m. The chase ended when the suspect’s vehicle crashed near the intersection of East 39th Street and North Meridian Street. There were two individuals in the car at the time of the crash.
ISP reports that one of the suspects was apprehended by officers at the scene, while the second suspect managed to flee on foot. Despite the high-speed pursuit and subsequent crash, authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported, and no other vehicles were involved or damaged.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, with officials working to determine the circumstances that led to the crash. The identity of the suspects has not been released at this time.
The area surrounding the crash site was briefly impacted by the police activity, but normal traffic has since resumed. Investigators have not yet disclosed what prompted the initial pursuit or provided additional details about the circumstances leading up to the incident.
