Newburgh, Ind. – The Town of Newburgh has launched a comprehensive parking study aimed at enhancing parking conditions for residents, businesses, and visitors. The initiative, which will focus on key areas including the town’s historic downtown district, seeks to assess current parking availability and usage while looking for opportunities to improve safety and efficiency as Newburgh continues to grow.
The study, which is part of the town’s broader effort to address the needs of a developing community, has garnered attention for its inclusive approach to gathering feedback. Stacie Krieger, Town Council President, emphasized the importance of community input, stating, “We want to hear from those who live, work, and spend time in Newburgh. Public feedback is critical to understanding how our current parking system is working — and where we can do better.”
As part of the study, residents and visitors are encouraged to participate in an online survey available on the town’s official website. The survey aims to capture a wide range of opinions regarding the current parking situation. Additionally, pop-up booths will be stationed downtown on May 14 and 15, offering an opportunity for direct engagement with town officials and providing a platform for face-to-face feedback.
This initiative comes at a time when Newburgh is seeing growth in both population and local business activity, making it crucial to reassess the parking infrastructure to accommodate the town’s evolving needs. With a focus on both practicality and safety, the results of the study could pave the way for significant improvements in parking management in Newburgh’s downtown and other key areas.
Residents and other stakeholders are encouraged to take part in the process to help shape the future of Newburgh’s parking system.
