Monroe County, Indiana – Free mobile Covid-19 vaccination clinic will take place at the Monroe County Fair on July 1-2 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. organized by the Indiana Department of Health. According to a press release on Monday, the clinic will be held in an effort more people to get the vaccine and stop the spread of the virus even more.
Walk-ins will be accepted as usual, but the organizer suggest everyone interested to make an appointment online through ourshot.in.gov or by calling 211 (866-211-9966).
“If you’ve been waiting and plan to enjoy the fair, this is a great time to get your shot at the free vaccination clinic. Being fully vaccinated allows you more freedom and helps the community reach a higher level of immunity,” Penny Caudill, administrator at Monroe County Health Department, said.
Johnson & Johnson and Pfizer vaccines will be available at the site. Those choosing to get the Pfizer vaccine, will get an appointment for the second dose immediately after getting the first shot. The host added that all people aged 18 are eligible to choose which vaccine they will get, but those aged 12-17 can only get the Pfizer vaccine.
Those younger than 16, will have to be accompanied by adult. If the adult present is not the parent or guardian, consent must be submitted in advance. It is preferred that a parent or guardian accompany those 16-17, but written or verbal authorization will be accepted. Proof of age will be required at the appointment.
The vaccination will be free, but everyone should bring proof of insurance since administration fees will apply. Everyone who will attend the clinic, is asked to wear mask and practice social distancing during all times.
