Michigan City, Indiana – 11-year-old girl died this weekend in drowning in Lake Michigan at a northern Indiana beach this weekend, while another girl, just 14-year-old, is hospitalized in critical condition.
The 11-year-old died Saturday night when she was swimming with two other family members at Washington Park Beach. At one moment big wave hit them all and they were pulled back in deep water. Multiple bystanders at the beach got into the water as soon as they realized the swimmers needed help. Two of them ware rescued, but the third body never resurfaced.

The second incident happened Sunday afternoon. According to authorities, fire crews responded at Washington Park Beach for a call that multiple children were “actively struggling in the water”. Around 1 p.m. crews arrived at the beach and help all the children they were in the water. But, one 14-year-old from Ohio was still missing.
10 minutes later jet-ski driver spotted her and immediately called the rescue crews. She was out of the water in minutes, but unresponsive. She was taken to hospital for treatment.
