Evansville, IN – A man is recovering in the hospital after being shot during a gun sale on the southwest side of Indianapolis late Tuesday night.
Officers with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD) were called to the 8600 block of Camby Road around 9:20 p.m. after receiving reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, police found an adult male who had sustained at least one gunshot wound. The victim was immediately transported to Eskenazi Hospital in critical condition. However, by 10 p.m., IMPD confirmed that his condition had been upgraded to stable.
Preliminary information suggests that the shooting stemmed from a dispute between the victim and a suspect during what police described as a gun sale. Investigators have not yet released further details about the nature of the disagreement or the identity of the suspect.
IMPD officials have stated that the incident appears to be isolated, and there is no ongoing threat to the surrounding community. As of the latest update, no arrests have been made, and detectives continue to work to uncover more about the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
