PIKE COUNTY, Ind. — A 49-year-old man tragically died after a drowning incident Thursday morning in Pike County.
According to officials with the Indiana Department of Natural Resources (DNR), a call was made to 911 around 8 a.m. reporting a small jon boat had capsized on a private body of water near State Road 61, just north of Winslow.
Two individuals were reportedly in the boat when it overturned. Authorities said one person was able to swim to safety, while the other was not.
Pike County authorities responded to the scene and recovered the body of the second individual from the water. The deceased has been identified as Brandon King of Princeton, Indiana.
An autopsy conducted Friday morning ruled the cause of death as drowning. No further details have been released at this time.
