Evansville, Ind. — A joint investigation by multiple law enforcement agencies culminated in a major drug bust in Washington, Indiana, leading to the arrest of two men and the seizure of a significant quantity of illegal substances and weapons.
According to authorities, the Washington Police Department, working in coordination with the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office and the DEA Task Force, concluded an ongoing investigation on the evening of Wednesday, May 29, 2025. The operation resulted in the arrests of 62-year-old Robert Krueger and 31-year-old Joel Fleetwood.
The case took a critical turn at approximately 9:35 p.m. when deputies with the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on Fleetwood. He was taken into custody without incident.
Shortly after the arrest, officers executed a search warrant at a residence located on Southwest First Street in Washington. During the search, law enforcement recovered over 800 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, more than 400 grams of suspected marijuana, firearms, cash, and various items commonly associated with drug distribution.
A secondary search warrant was later served at another residence on Cosby Street, as part of the broader investigation.
Krueger and Fleetwood now face multiple felony charges, including conspiracy to deal methamphetamine, dealing marijuana, maintaining a common nuisance, and possession of paraphernalia.
Officials praised the coordinated efforts of the Washington Police Department, the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office, and the DEA, noting that the collaboration was critical in dismantling a significant drug operation in the area. The investigation remains ongoing.
