Evansville, Ind. – In an exciting and unique fundraising event, residents of Evansville will have the chance to rappel down a 9-story building to support a noble cause. The event, known as “Over the Edge,” will take place on Saturday, April 26th, at the Centerpoint Energy building in Downtown Evansville. It offers participants an opportunity to challenge themselves while raising money for the nonprofit organization Granted, which provides support to children battling life-threatening conditions.
The event was recently highlighted on 44News This Morning, where Aaron Coomer, a board member of Granted, and Joseph Heeke, a senior at Memorial High School, shared details about the event and its impact. “This is a unique opportunity for the community to make a real difference in the lives of children who are facing immense challenges,” said Coomer. Heeke, who has been involved with the organization, added that participating in such an event helps create lasting memories and makes a meaningful contribution to those in need.
Granted has been serving children in Southern Indiana, Western Kentucky, and Southeast Illinois who are dealing with terminal or life-threatening conditions. Funds raised during the “Over the Edge” event will directly benefit children and their families by helping to fulfill their wishes and providing financial support during difficult times.
In order to participate, individuals must fundraise or donate a minimum of $1,000 by April 17th. This requirement ensures that participants are fully engaged in the cause while also helping Granted meet its ambitious goal for 2025. The organization aims to raise $200,000 this year, and as of now, they’ve already raised over $104,000.
“The money raised through this event will go directly to making wishes come true for children who need it most,” said Coomer. “Every dollar counts, and we are grateful for the support of our community.”
The Granted organization continues to touch the lives of children and families facing overwhelming circumstances, and with this year’s fundraising goal in sight, they are hopeful that the Evansville community will rally together to make the event a success.
For those who are up for the challenge, the “Over the Edge” event promises to be an unforgettable experience – both for the thrill of rappelling down a downtown building and for the chance to support a cause that’s close to the hearts of so many.
