Kokomo, Indiana – At 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Duke Energy reported that 10,000 customers in the Kokomo region were without power.
According to reports, the outage began at around 3 p.m. and reached its climax with more than 10,000 consumers, particularly on the north and west sides of the city.
Nearly all of Kokomo’s power had been restored by 5:15 p.m.
It was initially referred to as a “transmission level outage” by a Duke Energy official, mostly affecting the Webster and Johnson Pike substations.
Later it was discovered that a squirrel had harmed a substation’s machinery, resulting in the outage.
