Indianapolis, Indiana – Even after a significant winter storm moved through Indiana on Friday, there were still a total of 50 canceled flights and 68 delayed departures on Saturday.
Southwest Airlines was responsible for almost half of all the canceled flights. At the Southwest ticket counter, there was a long line that wound its way up.
When Barbara Richards got to the front of the line to check in for her flight to Cancun, she learned that it would be delayed by two hours. However, by the time she reached the front of the line, a ticket agent informed her that it was too late to board the flight.
“Not only did we arrive in plenty of time for the early flight, but the flight itself arrived on time.” The flight was scheduled to depart at 1:30 in the afternoon. We arrived here more than two hours before the flight was scheduled to depart, and it was announced that we would be delayed an additional two hours; therefore, we have plenty of time,” Richards said.
The tickets for her family were ultimately reissued by Delta Airlines. There have been 5 cancellations of Sunday flights so far.
