NEWBURGH, Ind. — Residents of Newburgh are now able to pick up free sandbags at the Newburgh Town Hall as part of an effort to prepare for potential flooding. The initiative, announced on Tuesday morning, is a collaboration between Historic Newburgh Inc. and the Warrick County Emergency Management Agency.
The sandbags, which are pre-filled, are available to the public throughout the day, but will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last. Local officials encourage those in need of sandbags to act quickly to ensure they are able to secure the necessary materials for flood preparedness.
For more information, or if residents have any questions, they are advised to contact the Newburgh Town Hall at 812-853-1720 x 0 or email [email protected].
This effort is part of ongoing community-wide flood preparedness measures aimed at helping residents protect their homes and properties during high-water events.
