Indianapolis, Indiana – Five people suffered gunshot wounds in four separate shooting incidents that took place from Sunday night to Monday morning, police say.
According to them, the first shooting that took place Sunday evening around 8 p.m. at an apartment complex in the 600 block of Belhaven Place near Washington Square Mall resulted with 7-year-old girl shot in the neck. When police arrived at the scene, she was suffering gunshot wound in the neck.
She was immediately transferred to hospital for treatment and officers added that her condition was stable. Police said more information about the incident will release soon.
About a half-hour later, IMPD reported a person walked into Community East Hospital with a gunshot wound. Police did not provide a condition for the victim.
The third shooting incident took place early Monday morning near West 71st Street and Georgetown Road around 3 a.m. According to police, when they arrived at the scene, they found one suffering serious injuries. The latest reports indicate that the victim was in critical condition.
The last shooting incident also took place early Monday morning around 4 a.m. According to authorities, when they arrived at the scene of a hotel located in the 4900 block of South East Street, they found two people suffering gunshot wounds and they were “awake and breathing.”
Police added that more details about every shooting will be released Monday or Tuesday.
