Indianapolis, Indiana – More than half of Indianapolis’ metered parking spaces are becoming more expensive.
Parking spaces marked “Zone 2” and “Zone 3” will now cost $1.25 per day starting on February 1, 2023, according to a ParkIndy announcement. This impacts 2,223 out of 4,202 metered spaces, or 53% of the spaces, according to Park Indy.
Parking meters operated by ParkIndy in Broad Ripple and downtown Indianapolis are NOT affected by the price increase. These hourly rates will continue to be $1.75.
In 11 years, Zone 2 and Zone 3 are experiencing their first price increase.
The parking lot is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day except Sunday.
According to ParkIndy, rate adjustments are based on the consumer price index and are implemented “once the total value meets or exceeds 25 cents.”
