EVANSVILLE, Ind. – A fire broke out at a home on the 6800 block of Briar Court near Highway 41 on Tuesday evening, causing significant damage to the attached garage and affecting the interior of the house.
According to authorities on the scene, firefighters were still working to extinguish hotspots after the main fire had been put out. While no active flames were visible, responders noted the challenging conditions due to cars parked inside the garage, which slowed down efforts to contain the blaze. Despite these complications, the fire was successfully extinguished within approximately 35 minutes.
Fortunately, all occupants of the home were able to escape without injury. Authorities have not yet determined the cause of the fire, and an investigation is ongoing.
The damage to the garage was extensive, with significant destruction reported. However, firefighters were able to prevent the fire from spreading further into the home, limiting the overall damage.
Residents are awaiting updates from fire officials as the investigation continues.
