Evansville, IN — A woman was arrested Tuesday afternoon after crashing her car into a house at the intersection of Michigan and N. Fourth Avenue in Evansville. The incident escalated when the woman became combative with emergency responders, leading to further charges.
According to the Evansville Police Department, 43-year-old Angela Morrow lost control of her vehicle and crashed into the front porch of a residence. When firefighters arrived on the scene to assist, Morrow reportedly began yelling at them. Police say she then physically confronted a firefighter, pushing him away from her.
As officers attempted to arrest Morrow, she resisted, kicking and scratching at them. One officer suffered a minor injury to his hand during the altercation. Despite the chaos, authorities managed to take Morrow into custody and transport her to a nearby hospital.
During a search, police discovered two smoking pipes in Morrow’s pocket. Authorities believe she had been using synthetic marijuana before the crash, though toxicology results have not yet been confirmed.
The front porch of the home was severely damaged in the crash, with repairs expected to cost the homeowner significantly.
Morrow faces multiple charges, including resisting law enforcement, battery on a public safety official, and possible drug-related offenses. The incident remains under investigation.
