Evansville, Ind. – Evansville police are continuing their search for a third suspect involved in a robbery that saw the theft of a dog, with two individuals already in custody.
The Evansville Police Department (EPD) reports that 18-year-old Aiden Smith and 20-year-old Jamon Farmer Jr. have been arrested in connection with the robbery. The third suspect, identified as 22-year-old Jeffrey Lambka, remains at large.
According to EPD, the incident occurred on Saturday afternoon, just after 4 p.m., near a residence on North Fares Avenue. The victim, along with his girlfriend, was approached by the three suspects, who allegedly intimidated the pair before stealing their dog and threatening to shoot up their home.
The suspects later reached out to the victim, demanding a bottle of vodka that had been left behind at the victim’s apartment as a condition for returning the dog. During the planned exchange, Lambka reportedly struck the victim in the mouth with an object, escalating the confrontation.
In a dramatic turn, the victim’s father, who was a witness to the incident, fired a single shot toward the suspects, prompting them to flee the scene.
Authorities were able to locate Smith and Farmer near the intersection of Highway 41 and Morgan Avenue, where they were arrested and charged with robbery. As of now, Jeffrey Lambka remains on the run, and the EPD has yet to provide an update on his whereabouts.
Thankfully, the victim’s dog was located nearby, unharmed, after the suspects fled the scene.
The Evansville Police Department is asking anyone with information on Lambka’s whereabouts to come forward, as they continue to investigate the crime.
