Evansville, IN – The Evansville Police Department held its Appointment, Promotion, and Award Ceremony on Tuesday, recognizing achievements, acts of bravery, and new additions to the department.
During the ceremony, two officers were promoted to the rank of sergeant. Several officers were also honored for heroic actions in the line of duty, receiving awards that included the Serious Injury Award, Gold Merit Award, Life Saver Award, and Certificates of Commendation.
In addition to recognizing officers, the department honored an Outstanding Citizen and presented the Chaplain Service Award, highlighting community involvement and support that contribute to public safety efforts.
The ceremony also marked the swearing-in of 14 new police officers, who will now begin their training as they prepare to serve the Evansville community.
Department officials said highlights from the event will be shared throughout the week and encouraged the public to congratulate those recognized and welcome the newest members of the force.
