EVANSVILLE, Ind. — An Evansville man has been arrested and is facing several serious charges, including rape and intimidation, after allegedly attacking a woman on the city’s Greenway.
The incident occurred on the evening of March 16, when officers from the Evansville Police Department (EPD) responded to a 911 call reporting a man assaulting a woman in a public area. The caller described witnessing the attack before the suspect fled the scene.
Upon arrival, police spoke with the victim, who had been transported to a local hospital for treatment. During her medical evaluation, the woman disclosed that she had been the victim of not only the Greenway attack but also other instances of sexual and domestic violence at the hands of the suspect, later identified as John Hill.
Following the assault, authorities initiated a search for Hill, who was located and arrested over the weekend. He was booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail, where he is currently being held on a $50,000 bond.
Hill faces multiple charges, including rape, confinement, intimidation with a deadly weapon, and additional offenses. The investigation is ongoing, and police are continuing to gather evidence related to the case.
