EVANSVILLE, Ind. — An 18-year-old Evansville man faces multiple charges after being caught with stolen property and attempting to use a fake ID to purchase alcohol.
Police say officers were dispatched to the Thorntons convenience store on East Morgan Avenue around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday after employees reported a disturbance caused by Donnovan Johnson.
According to the Evansville Police Department (EPD), Johnson attempted to buy alcohol using someone else’s identification but was denied and asked to leave by store staff.
During a subsequent search, officers found Johnson carrying two knives along with a wallet that had been reported stolen from a vehicle the previous night.
Johnson was arrested at the scene and booked into Vanderburgh County Jail. He now faces charges including theft from a vehicle, unauthorized entry of a vehicle, criminal trespass, and resisting law enforcement.
