Evansville, IN — An Evansville man was arrested Saturday afternoon after allegedly entering a residence uninvited and threatening a victim with a knife.
According to the Evansville Police Department, officers responded to a call on Red Bank Road where a victim reported being threatened by a man wielding a knife. The victim, who was reportedly terrified, fled to their vehicle and called 911. Upon arrival, police found the victim safely inside their car, parked in the driveway of the home.
The suspect, later identified as 29-year-old Martez Lockridge, had fled the scene before law enforcement arrived. The victim told police that Lockridge did not have permission to be at the home, and his presence was unwarranted.
Officers quickly initiated a search for Lockridge, and K9 units were deployed to assist. The search led authorities to a treehouse about a block away from the location of the incident, where Lockridge was found hiding. He was arrested without further incident.
Lockridge was taken into custody and booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail. He faces charges of intimidation with a deadly weapon.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, and authorities have not released further details at this time.
