EVANSVILLE, Ind. – A 29-year-old Evansville man was arrested Thursday afternoon after allegedly threatening a teenage girl and an adult with a gun earlier this week.
According to the Evansville Police Department, Corey Golike attacked the teen in an alley just after 7:00 a.m. Tuesday in the 200 block of East Virginia Street.
Authorities say Golike confronted the teenage girl and ordered an adult, who was with the teen, to go inside a nearby home and leave the two alone. Golike then reportedly threatened to kill both victims while brandishing a firearm.
Police said Golike forced the teen back inside the residence, where he continued to assault her and issued additional threats to kill both her and the adult.
The teen was able to escape the house and run outside, but Golike chased after her.
Authorities arrived shortly after, but Golike fled the scene before they could apprehend him.
A search warrant was later executed at the home where the incident took place, though he was not immediately located. Golike was eventually apprehended and booked into the Vanderburgh County Jail at 4:25 p.m. Thursday. He faces multiple charges, including kidnapping, confinement, domestic battery, two counts of intimidation, and invasion of privacy.
This is not the first time Golike has been involved in a similar incident. Court records indicate a hearing was scheduled for Thursday in connection to a previous case involving Golike from November.
Golike’s arrest has left the community shaken, as authorities continue to investigate the situation.
