Evansville, IN – The city of Evansville is hosting the Great Lakes Valley Conference Swim & Dive Championships this week at the Deaconess Aquatic Center, attracting more than 450 student-athletes from across the region.
According to the Evansville Regional Sports Commission, the event is expected to bring a significant economic boost to the city while highlighting Evansville as a premier location for championship sporting events.
This championship marks the first of three major collegiate swim and dive competitions scheduled to take place in Evansville through the efforts of the Sports Commission.
City officials and organizers noted that hosting such events not only supports local businesses but also showcases the city’s facilities and hospitality to student-athletes, coaches, and spectators alike.
