Evansville, IN – The Evansville Fire Department announced major upgrades to its training facility, made possible through support from several community partners.
Officials said the recent additions will allow firefighters to train in more realistic rescue scenarios, helping improve readiness and enhance the skills needed to respond to emergencies.
The department recognized multiple contributors for their role in the project. Garmong Construction donated and poured a new concrete training pad, while Tri-State Towing provided crane work. Walt’s Drive-A-Way donated two shipping containers used in training exercises.
Additional support included Mann McDonald’s, which donated tubing installed inside a container training prop, and an unnamed local partner who contributed a confined space vessel.
Fire officials said partnerships like these play a key role in ensuring firefighters are well-prepared to handle a wide range of emergency situations.
