Evansville, IN – The Evansville Fire Department received a $150,000 investment from the Knight Township Trustee’s Office to upgrade firefighter safety and emergency response equipment.
The funding included $75,000 for new Hurst rescue tools, which will be placed on Rescue 1 at Station 14 and Ladder 16.
The tools are used for vehicle extrication, forcible entry, and lifting heavy objects off trapped or injured patients.
Officials noted the previous tools had been in service for more than 25 years and said the upgrade ensures firefighters have reliable, modern equipment to protect the community.
