Evansville, IN – The Evansville Fire Department officially dedicated its newest frontline fire engine, Engine 2, on December 18, 2025.
Officials said the 2025 E-One Cyclone will be housed at Station 2 and is dedicated in honor of retired District Chief Bruce Woodward, who served the Evansville community for 33 years before retiring in 2016.
Engine 2 is equipped with a high-powered water pump capable of moving up to 1,500 gallons per minute, a 780-gallon water tank to provide an immediate supply on arrival, and a 500-horsepower engine with heavy-duty transmission for faster response times. The department noted that these features allow firefighters to operate more quickly, safely, and effectively.
The department also thanked local business Memory Portraits for creating a portrait displayed alongside the engine during the dedication ceremony, which was presented to Woodward’s family as a keepsake.
