EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Evansville police are actively searching for Corey Golike, a suspect wanted in connection with an assault that occurred early Tuesday morning near East Virginia Street and North Kelsey Avenue.
According to authorities, officers responded to reports of a man assaulting a victim in the area. The suspect, later identified as Golike, allegedly attacked a young female victim before threatening to kill her and another individual. The minor was able to escape the scene, and Golike fled before police arrived.
Authorities have warned that Golike is considered armed and dangerous. He faces multiple charges related to the assault, and the investigation is ongoing.
Evansville Police say they have identified a “location of interest” during the search, but Golike was not found there. As of now, he remains at large.
Golike, 28, was previously arrested in 2024 after allegedly attacking a teen and crashing a truck into a nearby home. Court records indicate he was out on bond in that case and had a hearing scheduled for February 13.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about Golike’s whereabouts to contact local law enforcement or dial 911 immediately.
The investigation into this latest incident is still underway, and police are continuing their efforts to locate the suspect.
