Evansville, IN – The City of Evansville and Vanderburgh County have announced the opening of a tree debris drop-off site to assist residents in disposing of tree limbs and branches damaged during this week’s Winter Storm. The drop-off site will open on Friday, January 17, and will be located at the Vanderburgh County Fairgrounds, situated on East Boonville-New Harmony Road.
Officials say the site will accept only tree debris, including trees, tree limbs, and woody shrubs, which can be either cut into firewood or chipped into mulch for use in gardens. The site will not accept leaves, grass clippings, regular yard waste, or any trash.
Residents of Evansville and Vanderburgh County will be required to show proof of residency, such as a driver’s license, in order to utilize the drop-off site. Storm debris from businesses will also be excluded from the site.
This initiative is part of the community’s ongoing efforts to assist residents in the aftermath of the severe winter weather that has caused significant tree damage throughout the region.
