BLOOMINGTON – The Monroe Fire Protection District has announced the hiring of Danny Gillespie as Battalion Chief.
Chief Gillespie has served as a volunteer firefighter with Oolitic and Shawswick Township Volunteer Fire Departments in Lawrence County. He has served the city of Bloomington Fire Department for 14 years in various positions.Gillespie is also the director of the Fire Science and Rescue program at the Hoosier Hills Career Center.
Gillespie will begin in his new role on April 20, 2021.
