WARRICK COUNTY, Ind. – A burn ban that had been in effect since Friday has officially been lifted in Warrick County, local officials announced Tuesday. The ban, which was implemented due to dry, windy conditions that posed a heightened fire risk, is no longer necessary following recent rainfall and expected wet weather patterns.
The county’s Emergency Management Agency (EMA) had issued the burn ban last week in response to increasing fire danger from the dry weather. However, the recent precipitation has reduced the risk of wildfires, prompting the decision to lift the restrictions.
County officials stated that the forecasted wet conditions would continue to mitigate the threat of fires in the coming days, allowing residents to resume outdoor burning activities safely.
The EMA emphasized the importance of staying informed on local weather patterns, as conditions can change rapidly. Residents are encouraged to exercise caution and adhere to any future advisories or restrictions as necessary.
For now, Warrick County residents can safely resume outdoor burning, but are urged to remain vigilant, especially as the weather fluctuates.
